Employee Spotlight: Chef Noel Wins Hearts Through Pizza, Hispanic Fare
Balmoral Event Center takes pride in what we have to offer, and so do our incredible employees. We have Chef Noel in the kitchen, and he is fantastic at putting together amazing meals for our special events.
Meet Chef Noel
He’s only been with us for 11 months so far, but Chef Noel has made an indelible impression on everyone at Balmoral Event Center. His delicious Caribbean-inspired dishes are so full of flavor you can’t help but come back for more!
Noel was born and raised in New Jersey, where he first encountered the marvelous, authentic pizzeria-style of food that he’s fallen in love with. When he moved to Puerto Rico, he began working at Sbarro making pizzas. He was promoted to manager, then decided to go to culinary school. After graduating, he got a job working in the kitchen of a Marriott Hotel.
Noel spent eight years working for Marriott, ultimately transferring to Florida with the company. He began creating a plan to operate his own food truck, but the pandemic interrupted his plans. That’s when he discovered Balmoral.
When Noel came to work for Balmoral, he helped to design our pizza menu. He personally enjoys the light, fresh flavor of a margarita pizza, and recommends that customers try the Balmoral Royale for a delicious, hearty pizza topped with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, and black olives.
“I make my own dough so that tastes a little better than anything else,” Noel explains what makes the pizza at Balmoral exceptionally good. “We do our own dough and our own sauces.”
He also specializes in crafting our authentic Hispanic fare. Noel’s specially blended sofrito is always on hand for marinating, and he makes sure that there are plenty of fresh spices in stock, including garlic and cilantro.
“The Spanish things I love because that’s my area, that’s what my mom used to cook – the pork, and the rice,” Noel describes his favorite dishes to prepare at Balmoral Event Center. “But I really like the pizzas. I always love making my pizzas and doughs.”
